Marchesa

THE CARLU, TORONTO, 2011

For her second gala, Suzanne Rogers invited Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the design partnership behind Marchesa, a comparatively...

young fashion brand, but one that has emerged as a favourite on red carpets the world over. “It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm with which they agreed to come to Toronto,” says Suzanne, “and as mothers of small children they were extremely supportive of the idea of helping children’s charities. The Toronto audience got to see the first full Marchesa runway show they had presented anywhere in the world in five years.

Every dress was a piece of art walking down the runway.” The Marchesa gala raised $925,000, supporting the Herbie Fund, the Children’s Aid Foundation and the Rose Home for Children in New Delhi. Contributions were also made to the Sarah Ferguson Foundation, with the Duchess of York in attendance.

“We would like to thank Suzanne Rogers for inviting us to Toronto, and for organizing a truly memorable evening. We were delighted that we were able to contribute to an event that raised such significant funds for children`s charities,”
