"Walt's Fishing Rod Holder" is a unique item that mounts to most pickup bed rails and lifts fishing rods above the tailgate of a pickup! However, you must check your pickup bed rail before you order to see if your bed rail has an inner lip of at least 1 in. inside (vertical made of steel) and also 1 in. of inside (width) clearance to allow room for the bed clamp and the adjustment bolt. The bed tightening eye bolt is made of Stainless Steel and the J shaped hook is vinyl coated.(No tools required to install,however if you really want it tight use a pliers) The J shaped hook can also be turned to lay against the bed cap, to keep it out of the way when not in use. Simply loosen the lower eye bolt and retighten it after the J hook is in position. The "Walt's Fishing Rod Holder" could also be used for handles or shovels, chopping hoes , brooms, etc. when not used for fishing poles! It will hold those items up higher so they are easy to grab out of the back of your pickup. The unit is not designed for heavy objects, and this should always be taken in consideration when in use. It can also be easily removed and stored away to be used anytime in the future. We recommend that the fishing rods are at least 2" above the tailgate of the pickup. We know you will love that the hassle of fishing rods on the tailgate problem has finally been solved.
