Translated from Japanese, Tenkara means, “from heaven” or “from the skies.” It is a simplified alternative to traditional western fly fishing; using only a telescoping rod, leader, tippet and fly (no reel). By spending less time and attention casting, you are free to focus more on presentation and catching fish! In this class, you will build your own Tenkara rod from a kit, learn to set it up and receive some instruction on casting and presentation techniques.
