It’s the most important fish in the sea, but menhaden populations have plummeted 90 percent over the past 30 years. The decline threatens to disrupt coastal and marine food webs and affect thousands of fishing, whale-watching, and coastal bird-watching businesses that menhaden help support.
Save Coastal Wildlife (SCW) is a non-profit environmental organization based along the northern Jersey Shore. Save Coastal Wildlife is an all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to the protection and conservation of marine wildlife that live and feed in the coastal waters from Raritan Bay southward to Delaware Bay.
