BOB MAINDELLE: Chumming isn't just for saltwater fishing anymore, Outdoor Sports
When a fellow angler mentions chumming, my mind conjures up visions of East Coast fishermen stuffing bunker or menhaden baitfish into a meat grinder to produce a fish-attracting slick of blood, flesh and fish oil in order to draw in bluefish or tuna. Or perhaps a Gulf Coast angler using shrimp boat by-catch to draw in king mackerel from out of the deep blue expanse. But chum in freshwater? Who does that?
